Physical Improvement Grant Program

The Physical Improvement Grant Program has come to an end. For the last six years, Coliseum Central has offered financial assistance to business owners as an incentive that would enable them to improve the curb appeal of their property beyond what they would have done without our assistance. As a direct result, thirty of our businesses were awarded grant funding and this enabled them to complete more than $600,000 in exterior improvements to their property.

The funds previously available for the Physical Improvement Grant Program will now fund improvements and beautification in more central areas (i.e., medians, bus stops, etc.) of the District.

Our One-on-One Design Assistance Program offers free professional design consultation (including drawings and plans of the proposed upgrades) and is available to all businesses in Coliseum Central.

Advocacy on Land Use Policy, Capital Spending Policy, and on Key Developments in the District

Coliseum Central BID sometimes plays an advocacy role supporting policies or actions that will improve our District. For example, the BID and its stakeholders often support community land use policies that will result in the enhancement and improvement of the District. Similarly, the BID and its stakeholders sometimes support the expenditure of government resources on public infrastructure improvements within the District that will either beautify the District and/or facilitate or attract new development. Also, the BID and its stakeholders sometimes support new developments that are consistent with the adopted Coliseum Central Master Plan and are deemed to be beneficial to our local economy.
