The 21st Annual Neighborhood Night Out Health & Safety Fair will take place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive) on August 13 from 4-7PM. This free, family-oriented event focuses on crime prevention, wellness, safety, neighborhood unity and family fun. There will be local Police, Fire and Sheriff department representatives as well as kid-friendly entertainment and activities.

District businesses related to health, safety or crime prevention are invited to participate at no cost. Benefits include:

  • Individual 10′ x 10′ pipe and drape area with a table, table covering and two chairs.
  • Ability to network with District businesses
  • Connect with the community
  • Sharing your organization’s mission
  • Ability to distribute promotional items
  • Participation in a long running, well advertised event

Party on the Plaza

Party on the Plaza: Juneteenth Edition is coming to the Hampton Coliseum (1000 Coliseum Drive) on June 21. The event features R&B, Southern Soul, and Old School music provided by DJ’s Eroc, Lawrence, Mike Jones, and Cleve. In addition to great music, there will be food and vendors. 757 Extravaganza & Marketplace

The 757 Extravaganza & Marketplace returns to the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive) on June 28-30. Hampton Jazz & Music Festival guests can keep the party going at The Official Festival After Party on Friday and all-day celebration on Saturday. Chris Brown

Retail 360

Retail Alliance is hosting a Retail 360 event on June 11 from 8-10AM at the Manor House at Windsor Castle Park (705 Cedar St., Smithfield). With Retail 360, Retail Alliance aims to facilitate an exchange of knowledge and solutions. The event uses a unique format where participants are divided into three groups that rotate tables every 30 minutes. Tables are facilitated by an expert who will guide discussions on the designated topic. Topics include:

  • Security (physical & digital)
  • Financial management & cash flow
  • Customers: how to grow customer base, physical & digital customer experience

The event is free however registration is required. Registration is open until June 7.

Splashdown Park

The Splashdown Park at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex (1908 Coliseum Drive) is open for the season. The park will be open on weekends through June 16 and will open daily beginning June 17 through Labor Day. Gaining entry to the SplashDown Park is easier this year. Dominion Physical Therapy & Associates was founded in 1990 by Dr. Allen R. Jones, Jr. to service the rehabilitative needs of Hampton Roads residents. The Hampton location (300 Marcella Rd., Ste. E), one of six in the area, has been open for 31 years. Their staff of licensed physical therapists are dedicated to providing the highest quality of clinical services in a patient-friendly environment.

Dr. Jones moved to the Hampton Roads area in 1987, after receiving his clinical degree from the University of Connecticut. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
