Neighborhood Night Out

The Annual Neighborhood Night Out Health & Safety Fair will take place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive) on August 5 from 4-7PM. This FREE, family event takes place in conjunction with National Night Out to promote safety, wellness, crime prevention, neighborhood unity, and of course, fun! This event is the perfect opportunity to connect with your community while enjoying live entertainment, games, kids’ activities, raffles, and more. Plus, meet local organizations and learn about important safety resources from Hampton’s first responders. Whether you’re networking, promoting your business, or just out for a good time, Neighborhood Night Out is a can’t-miss celebration of community spirit.

Local Police, Fire and Sheriff’s department will be on-hand to demonstrate safety vehicles and equipment. Kid-friendly activities include face-painting, balloon animals, games, music, and more!

Bodacious Bazaar | May 23rd – 25th

The Bodacious Bazaar Spring event takes place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Drive) May 23-25. Salute to Military Spouses – Spring Edition | May 29th

Join the Hampton community in celebrating the strength, resilience, and dedication of military spouses at the Salute to the Military Spouses – Peninsula Edition. The event takes place May 29th from 9AM-3PM at Bryant & Stratton College (5030 Kilgore Avenue) with shopping at Peninsula Town Center! This special event honors spouses from all branches of service with an afternoon of appreciation, connection, and fun. Hampton Jazz & Musical Festival | June 27th – 29th

Ribbon Cuttings

Sensory Activation Vehicle Ribbon Cutting

The City of Hampton held a ribbon-cutting on April 10th to introduce the Sensory Activation Vehicle (SAV) to the public. Originally purchased by the Coliseum Central BID, the SAV was donated to the city in order for the community to rent the vehicle for a public and private events including school functions, sporting events and community gatherings to provide a calming environment for individuals with special sensory needs or conditions.

The vehicle, which is wheelchair-accessible and climate-controlled, provides a mobile sensory space that can serve as a soothing sanctuary for people of all ages with “invisible disabilities” such as autism, Parkinson’s, post-traumatic stress disorder or other conditions that can be triggered or agitated by loud or crowded conditions at public events. B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center Ribbon Cutting

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board held a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house on April 25th for the B.J. Roberts Behavioral Health Center (300 Marcella Road). The 20,000 square foot facility specializes in assisting those who are experiencing an urgent mental health crisis. The center will be open 24/7 and provides a calming environment with spaces for counseling, in-patient treatment, community rooms and emergency medical services.

Coliseum Central Billboard Campaigns

Coliseum Central is showcasing district businesses as part of our billboard campaign. There is no cost to participate. Adams Outdoor Advertising will create the artwork and businesses will have final approval before it runs. Billboard campaigns will run for up to two weeks at three locations – I-64 at Rip Rap Road in Hampton (east and westbound) and High Street in Portsmouth.
