Whimsical Winter Wonderland

Coliseum Central’s 3rd Annual Whimsical Winter Wonderland event kicks off the holiday season on November 23 from 12-5PM at the Hampton Coliseum. This FREE, festive celebration includes fun for the whole family. Indoor activities include aerialists, carnival games, and princess meet & greets. There will be ample opportunities for photos in the various photo booths and holiday-themed areas. In addition, there will be face painting, balloon and glitter tattoo artists. Outdoor activities include inflatables, maze, petting zoo, 30′ inflatable Santa Claus, and holiday-themed ponies. For more information, click here.

Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Marketing Opportunities

Coliseum Central is the Post-Race Party Sponsor for the Crawlin’ Crab Half Marathon Weekend, taking place October 5-6 in front of the Hampton Coliseum. Staff will be on-hand both days with giveaways, as well as games and activities for the kids. Additionally, we will be providing information about places to shop, dine, and play within the District.

We are offering District businesses two marketing opportunities:

  • Provide promotional items to be given away at the Coliseum Central tent
  • Provide a special offer or discount for attendees who shop your business during the weekend

Fall Fest- GloRilla

Fall Fest 2024 is coming to the Hampton Coliseum (1000 Coliseum Dr.) on September 28. Rapper GloRilla headlines the event, which features rap/hip hop artists Toosii, Polo G, 42 Dugg, No Cap, and more. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com or at the Hampton Coliseum box office. NekoCon

Virginia’s longest running anime convention returns to the Hampton Roads Convention Center (1610 Coliseum Dr.) from November 1-3. NekoCon 2024- Mewths & Legends features panels & workshops, video games, gaming tournaments, karaoke and costume contests, and nightly dances. Musical guests include Wagatame and Sam Slade. Disney On Ice

Mickey and his pals are coming to the Hampton Coliseum (1000 Coliseum Dr.) from November 7-10 for “Disney On Ice presents Let’s Dance.” Watch as Asha and Valentino save the Kingdom of Rosas; journey to the Enchanted Forest with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf; follow Moana on a quest to save her island; sing and dance with Ariel and her friends; and escape to the Pridelands with Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. City of Hampton Personnel Changes

The City of Hampton has recently announced the following personnel changes:

  • Public Works Director Jason Mitchell will serve as Interim Director of Community Development Services until a replacement is found for former Director Bonnie Brown, who accepted a job in Northern Virginia.
  • Courtney Sydor will fill the role of City Attorney beginning September 16. She is replacing Cheran Cordell Ivery, who left the city in December.
  • Leonard Sledge returned as Director of Economic Development earlier this Spring, filling the position vacated by Chuck Rigney.

Day & Night Exotic Cereal Bar

Day & Night Exotic Cereal Bar (1260 Merchant Lane) held a Grand Opening celebration on August 22. Council members Steve Brown, Chris Bowman, and Billy Hobbs and City Manager Mary Bunting were on-hand to assist with the ribbon-cutting.

Day & Night Exotic Cereal Bar is a cereal-themed snack bar offering milkshakes, dessert cereal bowls, and exotic snacks. Their decor includes murals painted by local artists. For more information, click here.

Showcase Your Business for Free via Billboard

Coliseum Central is showcasing District businesses as part of our Fall billboard campaigns. This season’s themes will include a taglines including “Fall into/Fall in love with.”

There is no cost to participate. Adams outdoor Advertising creates the ad and businesses have final approval before it runs. Billboard campaigns run for up to two weeks on three billboards.
